Fresh iPhones bring new opportunity to deliberately smash them in order to demonstrate their durability. That’s exactly what Allstate Protection Plans did in its most recent YouTube video, dropping the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro from a height of six feet in a number of configurations to see how they fared against last year’s iPhone 12 models.

We’ve got some bad news for you if you were looking for a huge change from last year. The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro are almost as durable as the iPhone 12 models, according to Allstate Protection Plans. Even with a MagSafe case on, a six-foot tumble to the ground cracked the phone. Both with and without the MagSafe case, the iPhone 13 survived a pair of back-down drops, though the 13 Pro was destroyed on the first one.

This year, Apple finally addressed the battery issue. Perhaps it will be addressed next year.
